chrisd, what are you talking about? I use Firefox 1.0, and mozex works fine for me.

MozEx _may_ work for you on early versions of FireFox, but MozEx won't install on a clean install of 1.0.4 under Windows XP, and the extension has been abandoned by the author. This is due to Firefox's new habit of deprecating all extensions that don't explicitly support new versions of Firefox. That and they keep screwing with the extension architecture.

ViewSourceWith 0.0.7.1 does pretty much the same thing MozEx did as far as editing with an external editor goes.
