Lojban In General

Instead of pausing before and after names and sounding weird, why don't we
have a mental list of names. When someone uses a cmavo that would indicate
that a name follows, you'll try to match as many syllables as possible to a
name on the list. An example, using numbers as mystery syllables:
mi tavla la 1234567890

And we just so happen to have, on our list of names
12345
567
986798
We know that the person's name is '12345', and that 67890 must be something
else to be parsed. So, if ta gerku has the unfortunate name "mamtagletu",
and you refer to this dog by name and keep talking, two things might happen.
I can think (in Lojban, of course) "Oh, yes, it's that dog with the funny
name," or I can ask you "Wait, I don't know any la
mamtablahblahblahrestofutterance, what are you talking about?"

What if you know two people, named '1' and '12', where '2' is both valid
lojban, and part of the second prenu's name? Like a regular expression, try
to match names as greedily as possible.

What if the speaker knows a '1', but not a '12', and says "la 1 2"? I
suppose the only way to deal with this is to use '.' at the end.

So The Dot Side shall be unneeded, except when you're introducing someone to
a new name.

It is, of course, a ridicilous idea, no dout full of holes that a respondant
could make.
