    Greetings.

    Thank you to those who responded to my request for closed alpha testers. The
    first responder actually found a hole that is now almost fixed, so the actual
    alpha testing will start soon.

    As part of the corrections being made for that, I'm looking for a noun meaning
    "An opportunity to meet, caused by a happy coincidence of location." The
    word in question should be able to be used like-for-like as the word
    "meeting" is used, except the meaning should be "the opportunity to meet".

    I'm not averse to neologisms, and I would be delighted to find a short lojban
    word to carry this meaning. Anything to get lojban words into "ordinary"
    vocabulary, and hence perhaps to raise lojban's profile.

    Suggestions?

    In particular, what lojban word would you use for "opportunity"?

    hmmm, xagvanbi from xamgu vanbi meaning "good environment". How is "good
    environment" "opportunity"? What about xagykamcu'i from xamgu ka cumki
    "good property of possible"?

    x1 is a propicious/favorable condition/context for x2
    x1 is an opportunity for x2

    I think an opportunity is a situation, a state of affairs, not a
    property. An opportunity may be a situation that confers the property
    of being possible, but the opportunity is not that property.

    We can say "the trip was an opportunity (=a favorable context) to
    spend more time with him" or "the trip provided the possibility to
    spend more time with him", but not "the trip was the property of
    spending time with him being possible".

    So perhaps "xagnuncu'i", "x1 is a favorable situation of x2 being possible".

    Or, if you want to use "xaurkamcu'i", then something like
    "xaurkamcumsabji", but that sounds too long.

    mmm, I see what you're saying. Where did you get that definition? I looked
    in jbovlaste and didn't see an entry for "xagvanbi". Maybe we should add
    it.
