actually I think you got it backwards. lujvo grouping is left-oriented, so
it's a "(broken type of light) type of bulb".

Correct me if I'm wrong doi anybody who has more experience.

"Lujvo grouping" isn't well defined, since they can elide groupers,
etc. Tanru grouping, on the other hand is always left to right unless
changed by bo, ke/ke'e, or JA a spofu gusni balji is a (broken-light)
bulb.

right right, my bad. I meant to say {tanru} not {lujvo}. I'm always mixing
them up when reading the refgram and such.

Of course it doesn't work in Lojban, and for exactly the reason you gave.
But it does work in English.

After reading some of the other responses to sunrise's post I realize that
it does work unambiguously in Lojban.
I'd forgotten which way the binding goes, but it's opposite the normal
English direction.

That's what I expected.
It turns out that I used "di'u" out of habit, when I meant "de'u". I even
looked it up to make sure, and I still used the wrong one.
