Is the solution Lojban or English?

I suspect this is rather like his question years ago of "how many
locks contain a weasel" - it's an English question with an English
answer, but you can't answer it without reference to Lojban.

In what way does the question/answer of "how many locks contain a
weasel"/"????" require referencing lojban? Or am I missing a pun or
something?

The solution is two words in English (one of which is a lujvo) and one word (a
lujvo) in Lojban.

Luke, this is some kind of a puzzle. We've got to figure out how to
understand the given terms in such a way (probably in Lojban) that they
become actually interconnected, so that the "cake" and "furniture" parts
also acquire some actual, particular meaning.
E.g. the expression "dairy products" seems unnecessarily specific and
precise, so that would probably make a good starting point. No ideas yet,
though.

The gismu for "lock" is "stela."

Weasels belong to the genus Mustela.

Hmm, try translating into lojban first:
How many locks contain a weasel?

xo stela cu vasru lo mustlei

Nope, no idea there.

And the new one:
A dog who invents dairy products climbed on furniture and ate small long
cakes. He became weak and unable to
move. What were the cakes, and what was the furniture?
lo gerku poi finti loi ladru cu cpare lo nilce gi'e citka lo cmalu clani

Nope, still no idea.

Not sure what you mean. The question was "What were the cakes, and
what was the furniture?" and my answer is that the cakes were
ladyfingers and the furniture was a table.

I got "ladyfinger" very quickly from "dog who invents dairy products",
but I wasn't too sure about "table". I had "ble", but I didn't know
what the "unable to move" in the question was for. I tried
"rinju"/"ri'u" but that didn't give anything useful in English. Then I
noticed that the question asked for "cakes", not just "cake", so it
was probably going to be "ladyfingers". That finaly suggested
"ladyfingerstable", and the "sta" somehow justified the "unable to
move".
