News: 1 Dec 2006|#1Dec2006 - Welcome, xkcd readers! Join some Lojbanic Forums. The Lojban-speaking community loves xkcd, so getting xkcd'ed is as good as getting Slashdotted, Dugg or Farked. The author of xkcd is expressing a sentiment similar to Groucho Marx's statement, "I don't care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members." We can definitely laugh at ourselves, and exposure to xkcd's target audience (math, linguistics, and sarcasm) will probably result in at least one more participant in our hobby.

What is Lojban?, The Book is now available for purchase!
Lojban is a carefully constructed spoken language designed in the hope of removing a large portion of the ambiguity from human communication. It was made well-known by a Scientific American article and references in both science fiction and computer publications. Lojban has been built over five decades by dozens of workers and hundreds of supporters.
While there are many artificial languages, Lojban has a number of features which make it unique:
This site is the official repository of materials from The Logical Language Group (the LLG), the non-profit corporation which has led Lojban development since 1987.
As part of the LLG's commitment to the community, this site attempts to reflect a cross section of the Lojban community outside of the LLG. Fortunately, there are too many Lojban sites for the webmaster to keep track of, and so occasionally a site is overlooked.
This means that there are links here that point to other sites. Many of these sites contain material not sanctioned by the LLG. In fact, some of the material on this site isn't officially sanctioned, but we'll make it clear what is and is not official LLG material.
