To check whether a string begins with a __cmavo__, first you have to check that it does not begin with a ((Morphology: cmene|cmene)) or with a __CVCy-lujvo__. A __CVCy-lujvo__ consists of a ((Morphology: rafsi|CVC-rafsi)), then a ''y'', then any number of ((Morphology: rafsi|initial-rafsi)) (possibly none) and finally a ((Morphology: brivla|brivla-core)), or of a ((Morphology: rafsi|stressed-CVC-rafsi)), then a ''y'' and then a ((Morphology: rafsi|short-final-rafsi)). If the string does not begin with a ((Morphology: cmene|cmene)) or with a __CVCy-lujvo__, then it begins with a __cmavo__ in any of these cases: * It begins with a __cmavo-form__ followed by ((Morphology: special characters|spaces)) * It begins with a __cmavo-form__ followed by a ((Morphology: words|lojban-word)) * It begins with a __stressed-cmavo-form__ followed by ((Morphology: special characters|spaces)) * It begins with a __stressed-cmavo-form__ followed by a ((Morphology: words|lojban-word)) with a ((Morphology: vowels|stress mark)) on the first syllable. * It begins with a __stressed-cmavo-form__ followed by a ((Morphology: words|lojban-word)) that starts with a single ((Morphology: consonants|consonant)) and then a syllable ((Morphology: vowels|nucleus)). * It begins with a __stressed-cmavo-form__ followed by a ((Morphology: words|lojban-word)) that does __not__ start with a ((Morphology: vowels|final-syllable)). * It begins with a __stressed-cmavo-form__ followed by a ((Morphology: cmene|cmene)). (In this case the __cmavo__ will be one of ''doi'', ''la'', ''lai'', ''la'i''.) A __cmavo-form__ consists of zero or one consonants plus every following syllable ((Morphology: vowels|nucleus)) (at least one), where the last ((Morphology: vowels|nucleus)) does not have a ((Morphology: vowels|stress mark)), or of one or more ''y'' in a row, or of a ((Morphology: special characters|digit)). A __stressed-cmavo-form__ consists of zero or one consonants plus every following syllable ((Morphology: vowels|nucleus)) (at least one), where the last ((Morphology: vowels|nucleus)) has a ((Morphology: vowels|stress mark)).
