Gen 1 (Red/Blue/Yellow)

This is a direct rip of terms from the Pokémon Red video game, to be translated into Lojban. Inspired by lai pokemon., I (mi'e Joe Anderson) have gotten a ROM editing environment set up to actually create the game, translated. As a proof of concept, I have already translated most of the options menu. This was nontrivial, as I constructed my own combination characters for apostrophe+vowel. Also, I have the capability to modify the strings and reassemble the ROM, so the lengths of dialogue strings are not limited.
I'm putting this here in case anyone would like to aid in the translation, and so that I may focus on translating dialogue. I'm not copying over the pokémon names from lai pokemon. into this page to avoid duplication of effort, but for Items and such I am restating them here in full. I expect lai pokemon. to remain useful as a guide for talking about pokémon, whereas this is merely a repository of terms for the game translation. Naming rules vary for each topic.

- parallel name ending for parallel items, such as potions, balls, heals, etc.
- for short ones, full gismu and tanru are preferred to rafsi unless it would ruin aforementioned parallelism.
- In-game, there exists the gismu {pokma} with rafsi -pok- for pokemon. It is defined the same as the real words pokmone / daskyda'u.

- for short names, full gismu are preferred to rafsi unless it would ruin aforementioned parallelism
- I'm planning on using "ko'a cu broda" for "[pokemon] used [attack]!" Be certain the x1 can be filled by the pokemon name. Also, sometimes the selbri must be more descriptive than what it's translating. See "METRONOME" and Bulbapedia.
- I just had an idea. "ko'a cu broda" is good and all, but it's somewhat limiting because now there must be a built-in agent place everywhere, and in some cases that would make the word too long. I think a good solution would be a template of this form: "ko'a zo'u broda", as now you can use anything you want, which means more freedom in our translations. --selpa'i
